eMDA Goes Over The Internet - 16 November 2009
GCNet is proud to announce the introduction of its dynamic internet enabled application called the eMDA portal for the submission and processing of Special Permits and Exemptions to Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
With the provision of this secured Internet connection to the eMDA portal, Declarants can use any Internet connection with free choice of Internet Service Provider to connect to the eMDA portal.
The introduction of this new application therefore makes it possible for Importers/Exporters or their agents to seek for Permits or Tax Exemptions through the internet and at any location of their choice.
A phased implementation of the new eMDA application started on 12th October 2009 with Ghana Freezones Board. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) became the second MDA to go live on the new system. Minerals Commission (MINCOM) and Food and Drugs Board (FDB) were the third and fourth MDAs respectively to go live on the new system.
On 2nd November 2009 the Veterinary Services Department (VSD), Plant Protection and Regulatory Services Department (PPRSD) and Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) became the fifth group of MDAs to go live on the new system.
Roll out dates for the other MDA’s will be announced in due course.
